Whether you are planning a birthday or anniversary party, class or family reunion or banquet, the city of York, Pennsylvania has an appropriate venue. For an outdoor event during warm weather months, York has public parks that rent spaces. Indoor parties can be held year-round at numerous restaurants, hotels and conference facilities in the area.
The Holiday Inn Conference Center York sits along Loucks Road in northwest York. The hotel has a total of 11 rooms for functions that equate to more than 12,000 square feet of meeting space. The largest space, the Ballroom of the Roses, can accommodate up to 1,000 attendees, while its smaller rooms accommodate 25 to 40 people, depending on the arrangement of the space.
The Holiday Inn Conference Center York has a full catering menu with plated meals and buffets available for breakfast, lunch or dinner. A full bar is also available. You can also rent audio and visual equipment for your party from the hotel, such as a microphone or CD player. As of October 2010, the hotel required a 25 percent down-payment on the cost of food to reserve a space for a party.
The Cobblestone's Restaurant And Sports Emporium is at the corner of South George and West Princess Streets in downtown York. A bustling sports bar known for its satellite television, the restaurant has a private second-floor balcony area with large-screen projection televisions that are available for private parties based around a sporting event, such as a Super Bowl party. The restaurant also has a private banquet room available, with no televisions, for a more elegant affair.
For a lighter meal at your party, you can opt for hot or cold hor d'oeuvres service or the cold lunch buffet with salads, sandwiches and side dishes. Four different dinner buffets featuring hot entrees are also available. The Cobblestone's Restaurant And Sports Emporium has a full bar option for parties.
The York County Department of Parks and Recreation has a total of 30 pavilions available for party rentals throughout York County, including some within the York city limits. The facilities vary in size, accommodating 75 to 200 people. Each of the pavilions has a charcoal grill and 100-volt electrical outlets. Baseball fields, horseshoe pits, playgrounds and spaces for volleyball nets are located adjacent to or within walking distance to the facilities. Gazebos are available for rent to add an area for picture-taking or additional seating. You can also rent portable toilets from the parks department; restrooms are located at all of the parks, but may not be immediately adjacent to the pavilions, depending on the location.
You can rent the York County Department of Parks and Recreation pavilions year-round, with the exception of Christmas and New Year's Days. Reservations are taken up to one year in advance. The park's department does not provide any type of catering. You are permitted to bring alcohol to the pavilions.
