Wanderlust World Wanderlust World Wendover is located in northwest Utah, and is roughly 75 miles west of Salt Lake City. Though it is a small town, it offers a variety of attractions and outdoor activities that appeals to both tourists and locals. Wendover also borders the state of Nevada and, therefore, attracts visitors that come to the area for the nearby casinos.
The Wendover Airfield Museum is located on the north end of Wendover, Utah and only a few blocks west of the border of Nevada. The museum offers a variety of displays, images and aircrafts that commemorate soldiers that served our country throughout American history. The airfield itself has been used to shoot many Hollywood films including "Independence Day," "Con Air" and "The Core." Tours are offered to guide visitors through the museum while educating them about specific pieces and their history. There is a variety of ever changing exhibits, educational programs and events that take place at the airbase and museum. The Fabulous Fighters, for example, in an air show that takes place in September and features Viper F-16s and Navy F-18s.

In the eastern outskirts of the town of Wendover is the Bonneville Salt Flats State Park, which is located right off Interstate 80. The Bonneville Salt Flats is an unusual plot of land in that the surface is so salty that no life, even the smallest organisms, can exist. The almost perfectly flat grounds stretch for more 30,000 acres and make it an ideal spot for speed racing. In 1914, Teddy Tezlaff set an unofficial record for getting his Blitzen Benz up to 141.71 miles per hour. Since then, many people come to the area to not only race but to achieve the new speed record.

The Wendover Nugget Hotel and Casino is located right on the border of Nevada and Utah, just off Interstate 80. The hotel offers a variety of room and suite options as well as a large pool and hot tub. The casino features a number of Vegas-style games includes craps, roulette and blackjack. It also offers poker, a sports book and more than 800 slot machine. The casino has a number of different specials including Players Club that can award comped meals and accommodations.
