    Paradise Cove

    • Paradise Cove has served Malibu since September 1998. The restaurant held "Zagat" dining guide ratings of "good to very good" for its service and decor and "fair to good" for its food as of September 2010. The lunch and dinner menu begins with 14 soups and appetizers, such as the bloody mary gazpacho, the the fried calamari or the ocean shrimp cocktail. The signature seafood entree is the tower, a dinner for two that consists of a whole main lobster, 12 oysters on the half-shell, Alaskan crab legs, dungeness crab, one pound of peel-and-eat shrimp, smoked salmon, steamed mussels, salmon ceviche, fried calamari, marinated calamari and herring, two bowls of clam chowder and sourdough bread. The restaurant has a full bar and specializes in mojitos, of which it serves five varieties. Paradise Cove is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Reservations are accepted online and by phone. Casual attire is the norm. A children's menu is available, and the restaurant features live entertainment regularly. Guests can choose to dine indoors overlooking the water from the dining room, outdoors on the patio or at tables located right on the beach.

    Geoffrey's

    • Geoffrey's opened in January 1982 and held "Zagat" ratings of "extraordinary to perfection" for its decor and "very good to excellent" for its food and service as of September 2010. Nine appetizers lead the menu including the ahi tuna tartar, the lobster and scallop ceviche and the crab cakes with sweet corn butter sauce. A featured seafood entree, the sauteed day boat scallops come topped in a star anise and pomegranate sauce with a side of risotto made from Hudson Valley foie gras. Another signature dish is the seafood paella, a broth containing prawns, mussels, clams, scallops, chorizo sausage, chicken and saffron rice. Geoffrey's serves brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, lunch Mondays through Fridays and dinner nightly. Reservations are highly recommended and are taken online and by phone. Business casual attire is appropriate. Outdoor seating is available overlooking the ocean.
