Visitors to Washington, D.C. will find countless restaurants suited to their taste and budget in every quadrant of the city. Venture to the ritzy Georgetown area in the Northwest part of the city and you'll come across several five-star seafood restaurants that are some of the best on the East Coast. 1. Sea Catch Restaurant & Raw Bar

    • Step into the Sea Catch and you'll quickly realize that its dish of choice is seafood. However, it also caters to fish haters with entrees such as tenderloin, filet mignon and seared chicken breast. Start your meal with an appetizer, such as pepper-crusted seared tuna with gingered Tobiko caviar emulsion and sesame-seaweed salad. For an entree, revel in the restaurant's shellfish bake, which consists of a Maine lobster, steamed oysters, hard shell clams and mussels in a garlic-herb broth served with corn on the cob and Red Bliss potatoes. If you're less adventuresome, try the seared tuna au poivre served over sautéed fennel and leeks with saffron cream sauce. This restaurant is casual and reservations are suggested.

    Tony and Joe's Seafood Place

    • This restaurant is located directly on the Potomac River and provides great views for diners. In the summer, diners can get a table on the patio, where you can almost touch the water. On the menu is the ubiquitous "catch of the day," but you can also try the Bouillabaisse--an extravagance of lobster, mussels, crab, shrimp and fresh fish simmered gently in saffron-tomato broth and served with roast garlic rouille and sourdough bread. Then there's the Tony & Joe's tradition of twin cakes made with pure jumbo lump crabmeat broiled and served with a special Tartar Sauce. A bottle of wine or one of the many beers on tap complement the delicious entrees.
