Memphis, Mississippi Cruises

Memphis, Tennessee, sits near the confluence of the Wolf and Mississippi rivers. The city is known for its rock and roll heritage, including Elvis Presley's Graceland. Memphis attractions include the Mississippi River itself, Mud Island River Park, Beale Street and the Mississippi River Museum. Cruises along the Mississippi River allow visitors to view the two bridges that span the river, connecting Memphis to Arkansas.     • The Sightseeing Cruise takes passengers on a 90-minute trip on the Mississippi River using one of four riverboats. Facilities include a snack bar. The cruise includes information about the history of the area, including tales by Mark Twain and the stories of famous landmarks and people. Guides will also explain the story of SS Sultana, which sank near Memphis in 1865 after three boilers exploded. Nearly 1,800 passengers were lost.

    Dinner Cruise

    • The Dinner Cruise, a two-hour trip, starts in early evening and takes visitors out on the river at night. Highlights of the tour include seeing the city and bridges illuminated at night.

      The cruise includes a barbeque buffet and a live band. A dance floor is open to all cruise participants. As of 2010, the buffet includes pulled pork, grilled chicken, baked beans, vegetables and dessert. Amenities include a cash and credit bar.

    Holiday Cruises

    • Holiday cruises are provided throughout the year. The Valentine's Day Dinner and Music Cruise, a two-hour cruise, is geared towards couples. The price of the cruise includes a buffet-style dinner and unlimited refills on tea and coffee. As of 2010, the Valentine buffet includes beef brisket, grilled chicken, vegetables, rolls and dessert.

      The Holiday Dinner and Music Cruise includes a buffet Christmas meal and unlimited water, tea and coffee. As of 2010, the Christmas meal includes turkey, ham, dressing rolls, two sides and dessert. The New Year's Eve Cruise is a three-hour cruise with free Hors D'oeuvres and free champagne at midnight.

      All three cruises feature a live band and a cash and credit bar.
