At 18 miles wide and a mile deep, the Grand Canyon is a magnificent natural wonder. The canyon can be viewed from trails along the rim on guided tours and by hiking into the canyon, though the latter is only recommended for experienced, physically fit hikers. The south rim of the canyon receives the most visitors and is most accessible throughout the year, while the north rim is more remote and is open only during the warmer weather of mid-May to mid-October. Family-friendly experiences within the park, such as the guided ranger program, encourage interaction and enhance the learning experience.
The Grand Canyon offers breathtaking vistas of the natural environment and the Colorado River, which flows through the canyon.
