Singles Bars in Minneapolis

While going from bar to bar may not be the best way to meet a significant other, visiting singles bars will allow you the chance to meet other like-minded singles within your area. Minneapolis, Minnesota, is home to several singles bars that are non-threatening and provide a cohesive atmosphere for mingling and getting to know new people. It is best to go to a singles bar with your best friends to help reduce nervousness and to ensure a good time whether or not you meet a potential partner.

  1. Chino Latino

    • Chino Latino has been designed to resemble the tastes and appearance of the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, Polynesia, India as well as Africa. The goal of this restaurant/bar is to bring together all the treats and sounds from places neighboring the equator. When you enter, you'll notice a plethora of seating options. You can grab a drink or meal in the lounge area or at the bar; if you want to dine at a table you'll have two dining rooms to choose from. The community table is ideal for singles as it places you side-by-side with 30 strangers. After nightfall, the party begins and you will be able to dance and mingle with old and new friends while enjoying the latest remixes and popular music. Drinks range from traditional American cocktails to sake as well as beers from around the globe. Upon arrival, check out the parking lot located directly behind the club, but this is a quite popular bar and the lot fills rather quickly. There is a parking ramp one block east of the nearby intersection of Hennepin and Lake in case no parking is available on-site.

    Kitty Cat Klub

    • The Kitty Cat Klub is located in Dinkytown and is a favorite coffee shop and lunch spot during the day for locals, but at night the lights dim and the atmosphere turns it into a hip and relaxing bar. During most nights you will be able to enjoy music performed by live musicians or spun by professional DJs. Throughout the month the Kitty Cat Klub hosts nightly events, which range from theme parties to specialty drink nights. Singles will enjoy this bar as it is not as stuffy as some of the European-style nightclubs in the area, yet it's still classy and definitely not a dive bar. You may find the walls slightly cluttered; however, their exposed brick featuring fine art and eclectic pieces can create many opportunities to strike up a conversation with a potential date. If you enjoy eccentric spaces that are filled with culturally diverse people, then the Kitty Cat Klub will be your ideal spot. While there is parking located directly behind the bar, the spots fill quickly, so you may want to park in a metered space down the block.

    Brit's Pub

    • If you want to enjoy the company of your friends and meet other low-key individuals, then Brit's Pub may interest you. This comfortable bar features a fireplace as well as an outdoor patio and rooftop deck. The interior decoration mirrors that of an authentic British pub and with a long list of beers and specialty drinks you may forget you're in Minneapolis and not London. While this bar does serve food, the drinks and atmosphere are the attraction. If you want to enjoy an adult beverage but don't want to spend an excessive amount of money, you can enjoy two Happy Hours throughout the day. As of 2010, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, selected pints, wines and cocktails are only $4, and on Sunday through Thursday you can enjoy a late-night Happy Hour (10 to 11 p.m.), which features the same happy hour price.
