Dinosaur Museums in Texas

Texas does things in a big way, so it's no surprise that larger than life dinosaur museums are popular in the Lone Star state. Dinosaur exhibits are common in museums and science centers, but there are a couple of venues dedicated exclusively to these prehistoric dynamos. From skeletons to replicas, educational displays and dino digs, dinosaur theme parks and museums in Texas pay homage to our gigantic predecessors on Earth.

  1. Dino Fun

    • Dinosaur World in Glen Rose, Texas, features more than 150 life-size dinosaurs in a natural setting spread over 20 acres near Dinosaur Valley State Park. Interactive exhibits replicate the habitats and behaviors of numerous species of dinosaurs. The theme park includes an interactive boneyard, giant skeletal playground and a museum showcasing dinosaur eggs and raptor claws.

Dinosaur Park in Cedar Creek, Texas, boasts realistic life-size dinosaur replicas ranging in size from a 2-foot-long Compsognathus to an 85-foot-long Brachiosaurus. Dinosaurs are placed naturally among rocks, plants and trees, with a nature trail winding through the park where visitors encounter live wild rabbits, lizards, roadrunners and stick-insects. A dino dig and scavenger hunt keep all ages engaged in the experience.
