Idaho is home to 232 hot springs. According to the National Geophysical Data Center Listings, it is the state with the highest hot spring density. Hot spring resorts are located throughout the state, from the north central region to the southern central region and over into eastern Idaho. Though a variety of public hot springs are available, the private hot springs resorts ensure comfortable accommodations and environment.
Located nine miles south of Stanley, Idaho, the Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch makes its home in the breathtaking Sawtooth Valley. Almost 80-years-old, the ranch covers 1,000 acres and is open through the summer and fall seasons. Lodging options include cabins, an authentic lodge, meals and a natural hot spring pool. Since the 1920s, the hot spring has been fed directly into a swimming pool. Guests are welcome to swim and soak in the pool, or lounge in the deck chairs. Other activities include hiking, biking, horse back riding, fishing and white water rafting; there are also a variety of activities for children. The ranch can accommodate 50 guests at a time.

Twin Springs Resort is located near Atlanta, Idaho. Their stated mission is to have fun. The resort is located along the Middle Fork of the Boise River and is surrounded by hills. Three cabins and a three-bedroom house are available for guests' lodging. Each of the cabins and the house have a full functioning kitchen, comfy lounging areas and back porches with tables and chairs where guests can relax and enjoy the resort's natural beauty. Located in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, near the Portneuf River, Oregon Trail and California Trail, Lava Hot Springs is open year round. Home to four sunken hot pools with gravel floors and one new 20,000 gallon stone-lined hot pool, Lava Hot Springs is a southwestern Idaho institution. Each pool is about 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The pools are located in the center of town, as is an Olympic-sized swimming pool, which are surrounded by a variety of inns and hotels with their own hot pools or large bathtubs filled with the same mineral water that fills the pools. Many of these businesses also provide a discount to the pools for those guests who stay at their facilities. A campground is also nearby.
