In general, you can't go too wrong with a beach bar in beautiful Kauai, Hawaii. With the warm weather and ocean breezes, beach bars are popular throughout the island, but the following beach bars, in particular, are worth checking out.
Name after Hawaii's most famous citizen and the "Father of International Surfing," Duke Paoa Kahanamoku, Duke's Barefoot Bar is located close to the Lihue airport and offers live Hawaiian music on Friday nights as well as views of the Pacific Ocean. The bar is also connected to a slightly more formal dining room.

Located at the magnificent Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa on the island's southern Poipu Beach, Captain's Bar overlooks the beach, pools and saltwater lagoon at the hotel. This lively bar offers tropical drinks, food and a beautiful view and is open from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily. The Grand Hyatt also boasts another beach bar, the Shipwrecked Bar, as well as several hotel bars inside that are also worth visiting.
