Portland's bar scene is most widely known for its brewpubs. In fact, the city has the most brewpubs per capita than any other city in the U.S. In addition to brewpubs, drinking establishments in Portland, Oregon also include wine bars, trendy martini lounges and ritzy nightclubs featuring plenty of dancing.
Alameda Brewhouse is a brewpub located in Northeast Portland's Beaumont Village. It produces light and dark handcrafted ales in its own brewhouse. The brewpub features at least one seasonal beer on tap at all times as well as one selection served on nitrogen. Food on the menu includes beer-battered halibut, steaks, hand-pressed burgers, salmon gyros and prawn skewers. As of October, 2010, its menu features at least six house ales. Its Black Bear XX Stout won a gold medal in 2003 and 2005 for best foreign style stout at the Great American Beer Festival. The brewpub is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m to midnight Friday and Saturday. Happy hour is from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.

According to the website for 10 Best Trusted Advice for Travelers, Oregon Wines on Broadway features at least 40 Oregon wines available for sampling each night. The wine bar is open Monday through Friday from noon to 8 p.m. It is located in Morgan's Alley in downtown Portland. Appetizers such as bread and cheese are available along with the wine. Oregon Wines on Broadway's website describes itself as both a bar and bottle shop. As of October, 2010, the wine bar's website features bottles of wine available at prices ranging from $13.50 to $60. A wide selection of Oregon Pinot Noir red wines as well as Washington red wines are available. In addition, refrigerated white wines and champagne are also sold.

Portland's Paragon Restaurant and Bar, situated in the Pearl District of Portland, features a wide selection of signature cocktails made from the bar's own house-infused vodka, tequila and rum. According to Paragon's website, as of October, 2010, the bar boasts more than 60 brands of premium vodka from all around the world. Wine by the glass as well as domestic and imported beers are also available. Live acoustic Latin Flamenco music is featured on Sundays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Happy hour is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. Paragon is open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and for dinner Sunday through Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. It is open until 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
