Start by going to these websites: Travelocity, Expedia and Orbitz. Sign up at each site, indicating the point of departure and the desired destination. These sites alert customers of fares as they change. Also, sign on at Ebates and get some great discounts and rebates on airfare.
Get an account at Yapta. This website is the gateway to getting rebates and/or price reductions on airline tickets. Yapta promotes itself as "your amazing personal travel assistant." Yapta does not book flights, nor does it obtain rebates, but it alerts customers of the best time to buy tickets and the availability of rebates when a customer has already booked a flight and the price goes down.
