About Air Slovakia

Based in Bratislava, Air Slovakia is the oldest airlines based in Slovakia. A regional airlines, Air Slovakia's route map covers mostly central and eastern Europe with few destinations outside of the continent.

  1. History

    • Air Slovakia began operations in 1993 originally under the name Air Terrex Slovakia. The name change to Air Slovakia occurred in 1995. Primarily offering charter flights, Air Solvakia began scheduled flights to international destination in 2008.

    Geography

    • Air Slovakia operates a number of charter flights out of Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Since 2008, a few scheduled flights reach destinations in England, Spain, Italy, India and the Middle East.

    Features

    • Air Slovakia operates seven Boeing aircraft: a 727-300, four 737-400 and two 757-200s. This gives Air Slovakia a total passenger capacity of around 1150. All the aircraft are slightly over 20 years old and leased.

    Considerations

    • Most passenger reviews of Air Slovakia only give one positive: the price. Downside comments often include rudeness of staff, lack of amenities, and delays. See the additional resources for a link to passenger reviews.

    Benefits

    • One of the few benefits of Air Slovakia besides a cheap ticket is the free in-flight magazine, "Good Flight." Written in both Slovak and English, "Good Flight" has travel and tourism related articles and information on Air Slovakia including scheduled flight information.
