The airport in Istanbul is called İstanbul Airport (IST). It is the largest airport in Turkey and one of the largest airports in the world. It was opened on 29 October 2018, replacing Istanbul Atatürk Airport as the city's main airport. The airport is located in the Arnavutköy district of Istanbul, on the European side of the city. It is about 35 kilometres (22 miles) from the city centre.
