Why is finding water to drink for the animals in Arctic so hard?

There is plenty of water in the Arctic - it just may be frozen into ice for much of the year! Polar bears, as marine animals, depend upon sea ice to hunt, mate and migrate. Polar bears are apex predators and eat primarily seals, which they ambush and stalk from sea ice. As the sea ice melts due to climate change, many polar bears, and other species that depend upon sea ice, become isolated and separated from their habitat, food and each other.
