Does a ship wrecked in mid-ocean sink to the bottom or does it remain suspended at some great depth?

A ship wrecked in mid-ocean would most likely sink to the bottom of the ocean, as most ocean basins are several kilometres deep. However, some ships may remain suspended at great depths if they are caught in a strong current or entangled in underwater structures such as cables or reefs.
