Lake tonawanda what is it?

Lake Tonawanda is a small lake in western New York State, located in the town of Tonawanda, just north of Buffalo. The lake is about 1 mile (1.6 km) long and 1⁄2 mile (0.8 km) wide, and has a surface area of about 200 acres (81 ha). It is fed by several small streams, and its outlet is Tonawanda Creek, which flows into the Niagara River.

The lake is a popular spot for fishing, boating, and swimming. There are also several parks and nature preserves around the lake, which offer hiking trails and opportunities for wildlife watching.

Lake Tonawanda is also a historically significant site. In 1763, the British and French signed the Treaty of Paris, which ended the French and Indian War, on the shores of Lake Tonawanda.
