The 800-mile bus trip from Chattanooga to New York City will take about 18 to 24 hours each way and can be arranged through most travel agents or private bus companies.
A privately chartered bus is outfitted like an airplane on wheels, according to Joseph Jacovino, director of corporate events for US Coachways. Bus travelers enjoy the comfort of reclining seats, television, surround sound and on-board toilets. Tour guides can be hired to join the group in New York City and the bus seat becomes a front-row seat to the Big Apple.
A full-size charter bus accommodates approximately 56 passengers and would cost about $5,700 to rent for a three-day trip from Chattanooga to New York City, according to Jacovino. Not including an additional fee for the tour guide, travelers could expect to pay between $100 and $200 for the bus charter. Hotel accommodations in New York City are arranged separately.
