Bus Tours in Napa Valley, California

Napa Valley is known worldwide for its more than 300 wineries. Visitors to Napa to the Napa Town and Country Fair in August can tour the wineries on their own or join a group tour by bus. On a day-long bus tour, which are offered year-round, you'll discover some of Napa's estate and boutique wineries while taking in magnificent views of the Napa Valley region's rolling hills planted with vineyards.

    • Platypus Tours offers a day-long bus tour to Napa Valley where you'll not only meet people, but learn about the landmarks, wineries and the culture of the area. Tour itineraries are customized every day and are usually of wineries that are family-owned, historic or off-the-beaten path. Tours include a light picnic buffet lunch on the grounds of one of the wineries where you can also purchase a bottle of wine to enjoy with your lunch. Cheese and bottled water are served on the bus. Pick-up and drop-off service at your hotel is offered if you're staying close to the Napa region near the tour, but arrangements can be made to meet elsewhere.

    Napa Wine Tours

    • Napa Wine Tours offers a bus tour of Napa and Sonomo from San Francisco. You'll enjoy wine-tasting in boutique and large-scale wineries as well as learn how wine is made. The tour, which takes nine to 10 hours, will also take you to historic downtown Sonoma where you can enjoy lunch, go shopping in Sonoma Plaza and experience more opportunities for wine tasting.

      As of 2010, the tour includes San Francisco hotel pick-up and drop-off and wine-tasting fees. Tours are offered daily except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

    • During Extranomical Adventures' wine country bus tour to Sonoma and Napa Valley, you'll visit one winery in Napa Valley and two wineries in the Sonoma Carneros region. On the nine-hour tour, lunch will either be in the Groezinger Winery where you can buy locally produced olive oil, cheese and other products or at a vineyard in Sonoma Valley with a deli where you can enjoy a picnic. The tour continues after lunch to Jameson Canyon or to a Napa or Carneros winery.
