Hertz car rentals can also be pre-booked online. Upon booking you print out a barcode label, which is presented at the express counter on arrival at LAX. If check-in takes more than 10 minutes, you are given a $50 Hertz credit in compensation. A wide range of cars is available, including environmentally-friendly vehicles and sporty convertibles, as well as SUVs and mini vans. Some classes of car, including Prestige and High Performance, incur an additional charge for drivers under the age of 25. Extras such as child car seats, satellite navigation systems and hand controls for physically-challenged drivers are available.

Print out the booking documents at home, and on arrival at the airport you can select a vehicle from the correct category and drive to the exit booth, where an Alamo agent will check your driver's license and credit card.
