1.. Open the hood of the vehicle.
2.. Locate the battery, which is situated on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the firewall.
3.. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery by loosening the nut with a wrench and pulling the terminal connector off the post.
4.. Disconnect the positive terminal of the battery by loosening the nut with a wrench and pulling the terminal connector off the post.
5.. Remove the battery hold-down clamp by loosening the bolts or screws that secure it.
6.. Lift the battery out of the battery tray and set it aside.
Note:
- Be sure to wear proper eye protection when handling the battery.
- Do not drop the battery, as it can cause damage to the battery and/or the vehicle.
- When reconnecting the battery, always connect the positive terminal first, and then the negative terminal.
