• The Silversea Silver Cloud offers a pair of 10-day itineraries that stop at unique and different ports in the British Isles. One schedule focuses on Scotland, with three Scottish stops plus the Orkney Islands, as well as Dublin and Waterford, Ireland. The other option goes to Cork and Dublin in Ireland, Invergordon and Oban in Scotland, and three English ports. The Silver Cloud can carry 296 guests, giving Silversea customers the feel of a private yacht on their cruise.

• Holland America offers some interesting British Isle options with the cruise ship Prinsendam. The line's 14-day cruises visit the major ports plus places like Brest in France, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Skye and the northern fishing port of Scrabster. Also offered by Holland America are month-long cruises that spend the first 10 days visiting Britain and Ireland, then continue to either the Baltic Sea or around the Iberian Peninsula. All cruises depart from London. The Prinsendam has a capacity of 835 guests. Holland America is known for providing a luxury-line level of service at a more affordable price.

Cunard Line

• Luxury cruise line Cunard offers a 10-day "Around the British Isles" cruise aboard the Queen Victoria. The cruise departs out of Southampton, England, makes the first stop in Cherborg, France, then visits three Irish and three British ports before returning to Southampton. The Queen Victoria started her cruising career in 2007. The ship has 990 staterooms, seven restaurants, eight bars and a couple of tea rooms.
