The newest of the Disney cruise ships, Disney Dream is expected to launch in 2011 and sail scheduled itineraries to the Bahamas. The Dream will have 14 decks and hold up to 4,000 passengers in 1,250 staterooms. It will measure 1,115 feet and have a maximum width of 125 feet, weighing 128,000 tons. Disney will employ 1,458 cast members on the ship. Although the ship is being designed in a classic style, just as Magic and Wonder were, it will feature state-of-the-art technology, such as AquaDuck, the first water-coaster on a cruise ship. The ship also will feature four pools, including the adults-only Quiet Cove Pool on deck 11. All Disney ships include four types of dining services: Main, casual, quick service and adults-only.
Disney Magic sails 14 itineraries, from the six-night Western Caribbean cruise to the 14-day trans-Atlantic cruise. The ship can accommodate 2,400 passengers on 10 decks. The ship measures 964 feet with a width of 106 feet and a weight of 83,000 gross tons. Disney employs 945 staff members on the ship. Disney Magic was built in the Fincantieri Shipyards in Italy and designed with an art deco interior, including specially commissioned paintings, sculptures and woodwork, as well as rare animation cels from the Disney archive. Entertainment includes five live shows featuring well-known Disney characters, including "Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story," a 50-minute Broadway-style musical.
The sister ship of Disney Magic, Wonder also features 10 decks and has the same dimensions. It can accommodate 2,400 passengers, and Disney employs 945 cast members on the ship. The ship was built one year after Disney Magic in the Fincantieri Shipyards in Italy. The interior, however, was decorated differently and reflects the "majesty and enigmatic beauty of the sea," according to its website. A bronze statue of Ariel from the Disney film "The Little Mermaid" graces the lobby of the ship. Live entertainment includes two shows, such as " Toy Story-The Musical," an hour-long musical story of Buzz Lightyear and Woody's friendship. The ship sails 10 itineraries, including a seven-night Alaskan cruise and 15-night Panama Canal cruise.
