With an idyllic climate, a laid-back lifestyle and a vibrant population of young professionals, America's Finest City is also one of America's finest places to be single. Whether you only have a couple of hours or can spare several days, there's a cruising option for you.
  1. Hornbower

    • The Hornblower's Sights & Sips Sunset Cruise departs from the San Diego Harbor and makes laps through San Diego Bay.

At two hours long, the trip provides scenic views of the cityscape, Point Loma, and the Coronado Bridge. But the real scene is inside the boat, where there's live music, dancing and activities. Drinks and appetizers are also available for purchase. Singles wanting a break from the excitement can duck outside and enjoy the fresh air and views.

    Bahia Belle

    • The Pacific Beach/Mission Beach area is where young professionals live and party, so it makes sense that there's a party ship that circles Mission Bay 11 months of the year.

The Bahia Belle, a Mississippi-style sternwheeler, makes half-hour loops on Mission Bay between the Bahia and Catamaran hotels from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Onboard, singles can dance, drink and enjoy live entertainment while taking in the lights of the bay and downtown skyline. If the Belle's action become too much, disembark at the Catamaran hotel and stretch your legs.

The Belle runs on Fridays and Saturdays from January to May and September to November. During June, passengers can cruise Wednesday through Saturday. The boat is the unavailable during December. Guests at either the Bahia or Catamaran hotel cruise for free.

    • If one night of cruising and dancing isn't enough, Carnival offers three- to five-day trips that depart from the San Diego Harbor and travel down to Mexico. Depending on the cruise's length, possible ports of call are Catalina Island, Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas.

While these cruises aren't exclusive to singles---or even adults---rest assured there are plenty of singles looking to have a good time. Carnival's Elation and Spirit both make trips to Mexico. Possible on-board amenities include a casino, an adults-only deck, a midnight buffet, a gym, pools and whirlpools, spas, dance clubs and bars. As with all cruises, prices vary depending on season, stateroom choice, and promotional offers.
