Research your trip. Order the DVD from the official website, and while you're there take a peek at the staterooms. Book early to ensure that you obtain your first choice. If your cruise is more spur of the moment, you may not receive the stateroom that you want but rest assured, you'll still travel in style. Booking through a qualified travel agent is a good idea; they often know about discounts and will pass the savings on to you.
The Disney Magic offers age appropriate "youth clubs"; take advantage of them. Youth clubs are broken up into age groups and run by a trained staff. Some of the activities include games, crafts, parties, video games, sports and maybe even a visit from some Disney characters. A special feature on the Disney Magic is "the Stack", a retreat designed especially for teenagers.
Live shows are themed on classic Disney stories or characters, so make time together as a family to see them. The Disney Magic has a show based on Cinderella, as well one featuring a fictional awards ceremony. Cruises seven days or longer have more live shows. You can also see first-run and classic Disney movies in the Buena Vista Theater and the Walt Disney Theater.
Bring your bathing suit. The Disney Magic has three pools. Goofy's Pool is for families. It features a giant movie screen that shows Disney movies, and has a picture of Goofy painted on the bottom. It also has two whirlpools for the adults. Mickey's Pool is for the kids, with a whimsical slide and a splash zone. Quiet Cove Pool is only for adults, aged 18 or older. There are two whirlpools in addition to the main pool.
While the kids are having fun in the youth clubs, enjoy the many choices for adults. Disney Magic has many lounges and nightclubs. Enjoy a quiet drink at Sessions, or dance the night away at Rockin' Bar D. You might want to make a reservation for Palo, the Disney Magic's adult-only restaurant.
