Freezing mid-Atlantic winters can inspire cruisers to head for the warmer shores found in Bermuda, the Bahamas and the Caribbean. The Port of Baltimore in Maryland hosts departures on Carnival Cruise Lines, Crystal Cruises and Royal Caribbean. Parking is available at the port, but a local hotel that offers transportation to your cruise ship allows for peace of mind before you set sail.
The Inner Harbor is a mile or two from the Port of Baltimore. Stay at the Holiday Inn Express Baltimore at the Stadiums, 1.5 miles from the port. Their cruise package offers accommodation, up to eight days of free parking, a complimentary breakfast on your morning of departure and a shuttle ride to and from the cruise terminal. There's also the Best Western Plus and the Sleep Inn & Suites Downtown Inner Harbor, both of which have free parking and a complimentary shuttle to your cruise.
Several hotel options are nearby the Baltimore-Washington International Airport. The Best Western Plus BWI hotel has complimentary transportation to and from the cruise terminal when you stay. The Doubletree by Hilton offers a deal that allows you a stay of up to seven nights with a free shuttle to your cruise.
For a bed-and-breakfast experience, the Inn at 2920 -- in Baltimore's Canton neighborhood -- offers a cruise package with one or two nights and a trip to the cruise terminal. Parking is not included. The Blue Door on Baltimore in the historic Butcher's Hill neighborhood provides trip planning for all their guests, and will happily arrange for private transportation to the cruise terminal.
Just north of downtown Baltimore, along Interstate 95 and the beltway, a number of hotels have park and cruise packages that include transportation to the airport. Book with the Best Western Hotel and Conference Center, Country Inn & Suites Baltimore North or the Holiday Inn Towson. There is also the Residence Inn located in suburban White Marsh and LaQuinta Baltimore North.
