Why the green land called Greenland?
Greenland, the world's largest island, got its name from Erik the Red, a Norse explorer who visited the island in 982. Erik named it "Greenland" in an effort to attract settlers, as the name suggested a lush and hospitable land. However, Greenland's climate is actually quite cold and inhospitable, with most of the island covered in ice.
Despite the misleading name, Greenland is still a beautiful and unique place with stunning landscapes, including glaciers, icebergs, fjords, and mountains.
