How to Replace a Key 2003 Fleetwood Travel Trailer

If you've lost your key to your Fleetwood travel trailer, it will take a bit of work to have it replaced, since most regular hardware stores don't have the right blanks for travel trailer keys. Fleetwood filed for bankruptcy protection in 2009 and announced it would no longer make travel trailers. Nevertheless, the company is still in operation in late 2010, with a network of dealerships that may be able to help you with your key problem.

Instructions

    • 1

Look up the key code for your 2003 Fleetwood travel trailer. Consult your owner's manual, if you have it. If you don't have the key code or owner's manual, order an owner's manual online from Fleetwood RV (you should have one anyway). Also call or email the company to ask about the code for your particular model.

Contact a locksmith and ask whether he has the replacement key blank for your key code. If he does, make an appointment to have the locksmith replace your key.

Order the replacement key blank from TriMark -- the supplier for Fleetwood travel trailer locks -- if a local locksmith does not have the key blanks you need. Then give it to the locksmith so he can rekey your lock.
