How to Clean 22H Arctic Fox Trailer Water Tank

An Arctic Fox model 22H trailer has a potable water-holding tank with a 46-gallon capacity. Plastic water tanks release a smell into the water if they are not disinfected occasionally. Stagnant water may discolor, smell stale and develop mold and mildew spores.

Instructions

    • 1

Grasp the water tank lid and turn in counterclockwise. Lift the lid straight off and set it aside.

    • 2

Place the end of a garden hose in the water tank. Turn the hose on and fill the tank to within four inches of the full mark.

    • 3

Remove the garden hose and turn off the water.

    • 4

Pour 3/4 cup of bleach into a bucket. Add water from the garden hose to equal about one gallon of water.

    • 5

Mix the solution thoroughly with a long-handle spoon.

    • 6

Pour the bleach solution into the water tank.

    • 7

Turn all faucets in the bathroom and kitchen on full force to circulate the bleach water. Let the faucet run for about 10 minutes.

    • 8

Shut the water faucets off and fill the tank with water from the garden hose. Replace the cap on the tank and turn the hose off.

    • 9

Let the disinfecting solution sit in the tank overnight.

    • 10

Turn all faucets on in the Arctic Fox and let them run until all water drains from the tank.

    • 11

Shut the faucets off and refill the water tank with fresh water from the garden hose.
