Getting to the Statue of Liberty from Newark Penn Station

You cannot take a subway from Newark Penn Station to the Statue of Liberty. The statue sits on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, accessible only by ferry. From Newark Penn Station, take NJ Transit or PATH trains to New York Penn Station or World Trade Center, then walk or take the subway to Battery Park (South Ferry/Whitehall St). From Battery Park, board the Statue City Cruises ferry to Liberty Island. Allow 1.5–2 hours total. Ferries run frequently; reserve tickets in advance for crown access.
