How did the invention of railroads help poorer immigrants from Eastern Europe get to US?

The invention of railroads did not contribute to the immigration of Eastern Europeans to the United States.

The primary wave of Eastern European immigration to the US occurred between 1880 and 1924, largely due to economic and political hardships faced in their countries of origin. While technological advancements such as steamships and improved transportation certainly played a role in facilitating mass migration, railroads specifically were not a significant factor in Eastern European immigration to the US.
