Arrive at the station and using the map, locate the destination you want to head to. Decide if you need to buy a multiple zone ticket or if it is better to purchase an Oyster card. It has no limit on it's usage and the balance can be increased or restored by cash, credit or debit card at specially designed ticket machines at the railway stations and bus depots.
Purchase an Oyster card or train ticket from the station ticket office. Enter through the turnstiles by feeding your ticket through the allocated ticket machine or by swiping your Oyster card against the allocated card reader. Head down to the station platform.
Board the train from the platform and head to your destination. If your destination requires you to change trains, exit at the required stop and walk across the station to the next platform to continue your journey.
Exit the train at your destination. Follow the signs to exit the station using the train ticket or Oyster card to pass through the turnstiles in the same fashion as you entered.
