      London is the most common arrival spot from the United States. From London use Network Rail, which is the nationwide rail link in Liverpool. However there are some private trains like Virgin Trains, which started operation in 2002. Virgin operates from London, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Birmingham.

      If London is not your destination, but you are traveling to Europe and want to train to Liverpool, try to make your way to Paris.From Paris take Eurostar, a high-speed train between Paris and Britain for about $150. This will allow for easy travel to Liverpool on a variety of trains for about $190.

      Train timetables can be read found at various websites, and you can book tickets at those sites. Of the seven train stations, Liverpool Lime Street is the biggest and most popular station used for nationwide travel. From London, there are many train stations you may use. Some may take over eight hours to reach Liverpool because of all the stops in between, but a more direct train, the Pendolino train, takes a little more than two hours.
