Forget about soaking up the Swiss scenery before you arrive. The train travels in France except for the last 10 minutes of the trip.
Save a seat for your friends. If you travel from Nice to Geneva regularly and in a group, you qualify for the Eurail Saverpass. This reasonably priced pass includes anytime travel for up to four passengers.
Travel whenever you want. Many trains leave daily from Nice to Geneva.
Diversify your trip. The train will stop in Marseille on the way to Geneva from Nice. Get out and take a walk through the second-most populous city in France.
Relax on the short trip to Switzerland. The train ride takes only about 6 hours when you book a point-to-point ticket on a high-speed train.
Save money when you buy tickets for economy class seating. The environment won't be as luxurious, but your seats will still be comfortable enough.
