A jet is a hole which draws fuel into a carburetor where it is vaporized and sent on to be combusted. Jets are found in the venturi of the carburetor. A venturi is a tapered pipe that serves to constrict the flow of fuel in a vehicle to increase the velocity of fuel being pulled into the carburetor.
CV jets draw more fuel into a carburetor. To increase the amount of fuel being drawn even further, additional jets are sometimes added. Three-jet CV carburetors are designed for high-performance motorcycles. These carburetors are often modified a great deal further to further increase performance.
Conventional one-jet CV carbs can be altered by individuals by purchasing a jet kit. These kits have everything necessary for the alterations, including the drill bits for the job.
