Mazomanie is a town in southwestern Wisconsin located approximately 25 minutes from the state capital of Madison. Mazomanie is known for once having the state's only legal nude beach, on the shores of the Wisconsin River. In addition to a large public park on the western edge of town, Mazomanie has multiple art galleries and restaurants. One boutique-style hotel is in town, and one other can be found nearby.

The original railroad depot in downtown has been converted into a library. Housed in a building that once served as an electrical plant, the Mazomanie Historical Museum in downtown has four rooms with exhibits about the town's settlement and development.

    Mezomanie-Cross Plains Corridor Attractions

    • While traveling between Mezomanie and Cross Plains, tourists might want to stop at the Shoe Box in the town of Black Earth. This business, which is roughly half way between Cross Plains and Mezomanie, is a huge store with over 300,000 pairs of shoes in stock from over 180 major companies. The shoes are often available at a discount price. Recreational opportunities are available within 20 minutes to the east of the two towns at Indian Lake County Park. Another attraction on the ride from Mezomanie to Cross Plains is Festge County Park. Situated on the western outskirts of Cross Plains, the park offers a scenic view of the Black Earth Creek Valley and has hiking trails that wind through its 126 forested acres.
