Hotel Deca is located in Seattle's University district, 10 miles from Luther Burbank Park and a 10-minute drive from downtown Seattle. The hotel originally opened in 1931 and the current owners have spent $2 million on renovations. Frommer's notes the hotel's decor and artwork follow an art deco motif reminiscent of the movement's 1930s peak and notes that while guest rooms are spacious, their bathrooms are relatively small. Guests receive a complimentary newspaper daily and Hotel Deca's concierge can arrange babysitting. The hotel also hosts the District Lounge restaurant, offering diners a blend of Pacific, Southwestern and Mediterranean cuisines.
The Pan Pacific is located seven miles from Luther Burbank Park and half a mile from the Space Needle, situated in a complex that includes the hotel's 24-hour fitness center along with an arcade of upscale retail stores. Fodor's notes that all guest rooms are spacious, with unique touches such as Shoji screens in the bathrooms. The Pan Pacific hosts the Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar, serving seafood and sushi, and offers 24-hour room service. AAA awarded the Pan Pacific its Four Diamond Award in 2010 for excellence in accommodations and service.
