When traveling, it is natural to want to bring your furry friend along, especially when it feels like part of the family. Unfortunately, many hotel chains do not welcome pets like they welcome you. Luckily, however, there are many hotel chains that allow pets for a small fee and some don't even charge at all.
Candlewood Suites welcomes pets under 80 lbs. at all of its locations. Pets must be vaccinated and proof of vaccinations must be provided at check-in. Charges for pets include a non-refundable deposit that may not exceed $75 for one to six nights and may not exceed $150 for a week or more (as of October 2010). Pets are allowed to be left unattended but must be removed prior to housekeeping services. Guests must pick up after their pets and pets must remain on a leash at all times when outside of the room. If the guestroom is damaged upon departure, the guest may be charged additional fees.
Motel 6 was the first hotel chain to welcome pets and has been pet-friendly since 1962. Fees are $10 per night (charges will not exceed $50 despite the length of stay) as of October 2010 and only one pet is permitted per room. Upon checking in, you must notify the front desk that you have your pet with you. Pets may not be left unattended in the rooms and when outside of the room, pets must be on a controllable leash. Disruptive and aggressive pets are not welcome.
At 345 Red Roof Inn locations throughout the United States (in 36 states), pets are welcome. Unlike other hotels that welcome pets, Red Roof Inn does not charge a pet fee. Only well-behaved pets are allowed and pets may not be left unattended in the rooms. When outside of the rooms, pets must remain on a leash. If damage is done to the room during your stay, you may be charged for the damage.
