Neustadt, Ontario, is a scenic village approximately 175 kilometers or 110 miles northwest of Toronto that earned the distinction of being named one of the "ten prettiest villages in Canada" in the April 2000 issue of Harrowsmith Magazine. Known for its rural character and many antique stores, it does not have any hotels or motels. Visitors can stay in nearby Walkerton to the west or Durham to the east, however.

The motel also offers the Bruce Coast Lighthouse tour, a coastal tour along the light houses on the coast of Lake Huron.
The Varney Inn is 25 kilometers or 16 miles northeast of Neustadt in Durham, Ontario. A member of the West Grey Chamber of Commerce, the Varney Inn is located in the center of Durham near the Durham Conservation Area and Varney Conservation Area. The inn includes 22 rooms as well as an on-site restaurant. Other nearby restaurants include Rowan Moon Bistro, Riverside Fish and Chips as well as pizza parlors and doughnut shops. The inn is also walking distance to the Durham Art Gallery.
