Local Hotels Near Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts

Buzzards Bay is the home of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, an accredited state college offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in maritime studies. It is also known for the Cape Cod Canal, a famous fishing, biking and hiking location. If you are interested in visiting the college or taking advantage of nearby nature sites, there are several affordable hotels in the area.

  1. Herring Run Motel

    • The Herring Run Motel is a small, seasonal motel with 10 rooms and six cottages, open from April 15th through October 31st. The motel is located in front of a large pond and forest, with a herring run nearby. All rooms and cottages offer cable TV, private bathrooms and complimentary coffee and tea, and cottages offer full kitchens and living areas and one or two bedrooms. As of January 2011, prices run from $70 to $80 a night for rooms and $125 to $150 for a cottage. If you stay for six nights, you can stay a seventh night for free.

    Eastern Inn

    • The Eastern Inn is a small, pet-friendly motel with 29 rooms, located at the beginning of Cape Cod. The motel rooms have color cable TV, refrigerators and microwaves, Internet access, air conditioning and heating. The motel also offers a complimentary breakfast, swimming pool, fax service and a restaurant. As of January 2011, rooms run from $74 to $126 per night.

    Bay Motor Inn

    • Open from April through November, the Bay Motor Inn offers cottages and motel rooms. Each unit comes with cable TV, air conditioning, complimentary coffee and fresh flowers (when in season). The establishment has an on-site pool, and is located next door to tennis courts and a playground. The Cape Cod Canal is across the street. As of January 2011, rates are $79 to $129 during the season, and $66 to $76 in the off season.

    Buttermilk Bay Inn

    • In operation since the 1940s, the Buttermilk Bay Inn is located near golf courses, trails, biking, shopping and fishing sites. The inn offers 27 rooms, two-room suites and cottages, and guests may spend time at the inn's private beach. Buttermilk Bay is open from May 23 to October 31st, and as of January 2011, rooms/cottages run from $95 to $190 in the summer and $85 to $170 in the spring and fall. Special weekly rates are also available.
