Incorporated as a village in 1853, Shelby quickly grew and by 1921 was charted with city status, according to its website. Located in north central Ohio, Shelby is about 12 miles northwest of Mansfield and 10 miles from State Route 30. It's home to the Shelby Community Airport, the Shelby Museum of History, five city parks, and numerous local businesses, including restaurants and shops.
