Longmire is located in southwestern Washington. It is the visitors center in Mount Rainier National Park and there are two hotels within the park boundaries. There are also numerous options within twenty miles, most of which cater to park guests. Visitors to Longmire are primarily interested in touring the park and viewing Mount Rainier. In addition to the park roads there are also numerous hiking trails and Ranger led activities.
The National Park Inn is a small hotel with 25 rooms and limited services located in Longmire. Although it does not have the amenities of major corporate hotels, guests have direct access to the park and can stay in a historic building. The hotel does have a restaurant, gift shop and a post office.
The Paradise Inn is much larger than the National Park Inn and it has recently been renovated and updated. The historic building has 117 rooms with access to a snack bar, restaurant, post office, lounge and gift shop. Although the National Park Service manages both hotels, bookings are contracted through private companies and last minute rooms can be difficult to find.
This is one of several small hotels just outside the park gates. The Country Inn has several different room sizes and a common room with complimentary wine and a fireplace. It also has trails leading directly off the property and onto National Forest Service lands. Guests receive a daily breakfast in the restaurant and there is a hot tub and a trout pond. The hotel is open year round and snowshoes are provided for winter adventures. The proximity to the town of Ashford makes services readily available and the park entrance is minutes away.
The Copper Creek Inn has suites and a cabin available. The Inn has a private lodge with several rooms and a separate hotel with extra suites. In addition to the standard lodging, there are several private cabins and studios strategically placed in wooded settings. Each of the suites come with a hot tub and unique interior designs. The Inn is located within a short drive of services in Ashford and it is only two miles from the entrance to the park.
