Thackery, Illinois is an unincorporated community located on Country Road 1475 North, 5 miles northeast of McLeansboro. The rural town is situated in Hamilton County, in the southeastern section of the state, with a total population of 8,096. On average, the county is home to only 19 people per square mile in the rural area.
