Nicknamed the "Christian Broadway," Sight and Sound Theatre gives you the opportunity to become immersed in Bible-based theatrical productions. The theater is located in the heart of Pennsylvania's Amish county and has been in operation for more than 35 years. Before or after the show, you can also explore other area attractions, which include tours of working farms, outlet shopping and train rides on the mighty Strasburg Railroad.
With the exterior appearance of a stately steamboat and interior nautical and Victorian themes, the Fulton Steamboat Inn, located 2 miles from the theater, extends your theatrical experience. The inn also has a Victorian-themed restaurant, gift shop, indoor pool, a duck and koi pond, walking trail, fitness room and a playground. If you'd rather sleep in an actual train car, The Red Caboose Motel is about 3 miles from the theater near Strasburg Railroad. There are 40 historic cars to choose from, each with a private bathroom, cable television, refrigerator and microwave. The hotel also has an on-site gift shop, petting zoo, restaurant and Amish buggy rides.
For a small additional charge, pets are welcome in designatedrooms at the Clarion Inn Historic Strasburg Inn Hotel, located just a mile from Sight and Sound Theatre. The hotel is a short drive from most major area attractions and includes a fitness center, outdoor pool, business center, on-site restaurant and free breakfast. You can bring two dogs weighing up to 55 pounds with you to Hawthorn Suites, an all-suite hotel located about 4 1/2 miles from the theater near outlets and restaurants. Other amenities include a hot breakfast buffet and a fitness center.
Hershey Farm Restaurant and Inn is situated on 23 acres with sweeping views of the Amish countryside. Guests can choose from rooms in the Main Inn, Carriage House or the Farmhouse. Additionally, the hotel has two playgrounds, a fishing pond, landscaped walking trails and an outdoor pool. Wandering farm animals, a smorgasbord-style restaurant, a bakery, boutique shopping and an outdoor market are also on site. Nestled in the center of Strasburg, the historic Limestone Inn is within walking distance of attractions such as the candlelit ghost tour, shops and restaurants. The inn, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, has six rooms, most with private bathrooms. The innkeepers serve a full breakfast every morning in the formal dining room.
