Belleville is a small community that has the distinction of being named a hamlet within the town of Ellisburg near the edge of Lake Ontario in New York. Situated in Jefferson County, Belleville is home to Belleville Henderson High School, a public library and the Belleville Cemetery, which is rich in genealogical and family history. Southwick Beach State Park and Lost Nation State Forest are near Belleville and offer opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, hiking, camping, hunting and snowmobiling. While lodging opportunities do not exist within Belleville, hotels are available in Henderson, which is six miles north of Belleville.
