The city of Mabalacat in the province of Pampanga, Philippines, officially became a town in 1712. It was named after the plentiful balacat trees in the area. Current day Mabalacat is a growing city with a population of more than 200,000 and an infrastructure with newly developed roads, medical facilities, basketball courts, a resort and a theme park.
