Panama City Beach is located along the northwestern area of Florida's panhandle along the Gulf of Mexico. While it's hard to find pet-friendly hotels situated directly on the beach, since dogs are not allowed on public beaches, you can find pet-friendly accommodations a mile or less away. Most hotels request that you tell them you're bringing a pet when booking your reservation; be sure to ask if there is weight requirement.
The pet-friendly MainStay Suites allows two pets, 25 lbs. or less, to stay in guest rooms for a nightly fee. One-bedroom units can accommodate four guests, or you can rent a private beach house which can hold 10 guests. Standard rooms include full kitchens and sitting areas. Rooms offer views of the water or the outdoor swimming pool. The hotel provides both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a lazy river with inner tubes, a miniature golf course and karaoke at the hotel's Tiki Bar. Additional amenities include a complimentary airport shuttle, a grocery store and water equipment rentals such as jet skis and sailboats.
Situated near Florida State University, the four-story Sleep Inn and Suites allows two pets to stay in guest rooms for a daily fee. The hotel is within walking distance to Zoo World where you can photograph wolves, lions and tigers. The 90 smoke-free guest rooms provide free Internet access, kitchenettes and pillow-top mattresses. The hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by tables and loungers, free continental breakfast and provides meeting facilities. Additional on-site amenities range from a business room with laser printers to an on-site sports bar. The hotel is approximately one mile from the beach.
