Panama City is a beach community on Florida's panhandle. Boasting sugar white sand and clear green water, this community has plenty of hotels, motels, resorts, vacation homes and condos that cater to travelers. Tourists who enjoy traveling with their dog or cat can find pet-friendly condominiums throughout Panama City and its beaches.
Pineapple Villas is a small group of beach villas in the Laguna Beach area of Panama City. In addition to allowing pets, these villas offer free Internet access (wired and wireless), an onsite laundry, private beach and a pool. Pineapple Villas has one- and two-bedroom units as well as a beach house that rents out on a weekly basis.
These condos allow up to two pets per rental, and no pet may weigh more than 30 pounds. The condominium charges a per-stay fee for pets and asks pet owners to sign an agreement that outlines the specific rules, such as no wet pets on furniture. Pineapple Villas has a dog walk on the property. Pet owners should bring their pet's bedding and dishes since none are provided as part of the rental.
For humans, Pineapple Villas has a resident masseuse and chef, both of whom will come to a guest's condo. This beachfront resort also has standard amenities like a pool and hot tub. There is no laundry service but the condo has a laundry room on site for guests.
Polynesian Village is one of several accommodations managed by GulfView Properties. Some of these units are owner-occupied year-round, while others are designed for travelers. GulfView Properties has several condos in Panama City; some of these units allow pets. Visitors can choose from a gulf or lake view at Polynesian Village. These are one-bedroom units and prices vary.
As of fall 2010, GulfView properties did not charge an extra fee for the units that allowed pets and does not limit the size of the pet. The pet-friendly condos allow pets but do not have special provisions for those pets, such as beds or bowls; guests should bring anything their pet may need.
The units come with sheets and towels (although management asks guests to bring their own beach towels) as well as housekeeping items such as trash bags, soap and cleaning supplies. In addition to an on-site pool, Polynesian Village is within walking distance of an outdoor activity center that includes a park, movie theater and fishing pier. These condos front the Gulf of Mexico and also have a lake on site.
Rather than one condo, Ocean Reef Resorts comprises three vacation condominiums in Panama City. Many of these condos allow pets. Prices and rules vary, as do amenities. Sizes range from one to four bedrooms. Ocean Reef Resorts also manages one vacation home rental in Panama City. All four of these properties are directly on the beach.
Not every rental allows pets, but the pet-friendly rentals do not charge an extra fee. Ocean Reef Resorts allows pets up to 25 pounds. The rental policies do not specify a limit on the number of pets or breed restrictions. Vacationers should bring their pet's bed, bowls and other necessities.
In addition to on-site amenities like pools and Jacuzzis, Ocean Reef Resorts provide guests with an amenity card. When travelers present this card at local golf courses, restaurants and other venues, they receive free or discounted merchandise or food. For example, Ocean Reef Resort guests receive discounts on local watersport rentals and tours as well as one ticket for a complimentary dinner cruise.
