Hotels Around Put-In-Bay, Ohio

The northern Ohio island, Put-in-Bay, has been a summer resort for over 100 years. The 2-mile-by-4-mile island is home to approximately 480 full time residents and thousands of summer visitors. Attractions on the tiny island include the nation's third tallest monument, great fishing and various types of musical entertainment. The only access to the island is by ferry or charter plane. The Put-in-Bay season is April through October. The ferry boats do not run during the off season, but visitors can access the island by charter plane.

  1. Put In Bay Resort

    • This is the newest hotel in Put-in-Bay. The hotel has a variety of room styles including two-bedroom suites, non-smoking rooms and handicap accessible suites. Rooms are equipped with refrigerators and high speed Internet. Amenities include a Caribbean themed swim-up bar, free continental breakfast, golf carts, 40-person Jacuzzi and a pool. The resort is located in the downtown area and within walking distance of island attractions such as the Antique Car Museum, which is located at the Perry’s Cave complex, and the islands passenger ferry and boat docks. The Blue Marlin Tiki Bar, an island hot spot, is located on the property. The Blue Marlin has a full-service bar and Texas BBQ meals available either pool-side or for carryout.

    Park Hotel

    • The Park Hotel is designed to replicate lodging from the Victorian era. It is located close to Put-in-Bay attractions such as Victory Landing, located at South Bass Island State Park, where visitors can have a lakefront picnic, stroll on the beach or do some fishing. Staying true to the decor of the building, the hotel does not have telephones or televisions in any of the guest rooms. There are no private restroom facilities, but there are separate facilities for men and women on each floor of the hotel.

    Edgewater Downtown Hotel & Suites

    • The Edgewater is located in downtown and within walking distance to the harbor and to Tony’s Place, a favorite spot for locals and visitors of all ages. In addition to serving cold beer for the grownups, the bar has arcade games, bowling and ice cream for the young, and the young-at-heart. The Edgewater has two varieties of rooms available: a standard room sleeps four and a luxury suite sleeps six people. The hotel has a large deck and veranda overlooking the waterfront and downtown area. Recreation vehicles including bikes, mopeds and golf carts in a variety of sizes are available for guest rental.

    Commodore Resort

    • The Commodore has recently been rebuilt to accommodate additional guest rooms. The new building features rooms that are equipped with a microwave, refrigerator and high speed Internet, and most rooms overlook the pool and tiki bar. The hotel features a Subway restaurant located right in the lobby, as well as the Mist Pool bar and grill that overlooks the harbor. Each Friday and Saturday night the Mist Pool Bar has live entertainment. The hotel is located in the downtown area and within walking distance to Put-In-Bays attraction including the harbor and Mossback's Island Bar and Grill, which serves fresh-caught walleye and perch.

    Bay Lodging Resort

    • With 50 guest accommodation areas, the Bay Lodging Resort is one of the largest hotels on the island. The hotel is located approximately three blocks from the downtown area, where visitors can tour the Heineman Winery and enjoy a taste of wine with cheese and crackers. After touring the winery, take a golf cart ride or walk to the Put-in-Bay Brewing Co. for a pizza sandwich, sample the varieties of beer brewed on the island or spend the night dancing to live entertainment in the upstairs of the brewery. Golf carts are available to rent for getting around the island. Amenities include a 10-person Jacuzzi, free continental breakfast on weekdays, bicycle and moped rental, wireless Internet and two pools.
