Jersey Shore Beach Front Hotels

The New Jersey draws visitors to enjoy its beaches, vibrant night life, boardwalks, amusement parks and seafood restaurants. A wide range of lodging is available in the state's summer resort towns, ranging from upscale Victorian-style hotels to basic efficiency units designed to accommodate families. The most well-known beachfront hotels in the state are in Atlantic City. These include casino hotels such as the Tropicana, the Trump Taj Mahal and Caesers.

  1. La Mer Beachfront Inn

    • The La Mer Beachfront Inn is located in Cape May, a popular resort town on the extreme southern tip of New Jersey. Situated along the dunes on the Cape May beaches, the hotel is a short walking distance from the Atlantic Ocean. Guests are also within waking distance of Cape May's historical landmarks, shops, restaurants and buildings featuring Victorian architecture. The luxury rooms offer views of the ocean from their private balconies. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool with a sun deck, outside gas grills, guests laundry rooms, a business center, banquet facilities and a fitness center. Plenty of parking is available on this landscaped property. Each room has its own safe. The hotel's oceanfront restaurant and bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and provides poolside service. Rooms start at less than $100 per night in the winter as of 2010, but are no less than $200 during the peak tourist season in the summer.

    Ocean Place

    • Ocean Place advertises itself as the premier beachfront hotel between New York City and Atlantic City. It is located in Long Branch in Monmouth County. This is an upscale establishment with 254 guest rooms and five luxurious suites. It has its own private beach, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a fitness center and an oceanfront promenade. Guests can also gain access at a local golf course with help from the front desk. Each room has its own balcony. Other amenities include on-site restaurants and a spa. The hotel has four places to eat as well as an outdoor tiki bar that features live entertainment during the summer months. Winter rates as of December 2010 started at $120 per night. The rates are higher during the summer. Various packages are offered, including couples and girlfriend getaway packages.

    Acacia Beachfront Resort

    • The Acacia Beachfront Resort is in Wildwood Crest, a popular summer tourist destination south of Atlantic City. The hotel has a variety of accommodations that all provide a view of the ocean, carpeting and two TVs with cable.The units range in size from one bedrooms to efficiencies with full kitchenettes that can sleep up to 10. The property has a heated outdoor swimming pool, laundry facilities, oceanfront sun decks, and quick access to the beach. A restaurant next to the hotel serves breakfast, lunch and snacks. An open-air trolley that connects to points of interest in the town such as the Wildwood boardwalk and water parks goes by the hotel. Off-season rates at the end of 2010 were listing as low as $67 per night. During the peak season, a unit for two starts around $170 per day.

    Tropicana

    • The Tropicana is located along the boardwalk in the famous resort town of Atlantic City. It is an all-inclusive establishment loaded with amenities, including a gambling floor with nearly 3,000 slot machines and 20 on-site restaurants. Rooms in the winter of 2010 were listing at as little as $59 a night, although these rates spike on holidays, weekends and in the summer. Live shows featuring famous entertainers are regularly featured at the hotel. Other highlights include a beach cabana, a beauty salon, a spa, and both outside and inside swimming pools. Bars abound throughout the hotel, including one located next to the outdoor pool. Most of the other famous hotels in Atlantic City can be reached by walking the boardwalk.

    Desert Palm Hotel

    • The Desert Palm is situated in the town of Seaside Park, which is not as upscale as some New Jersey Shore communities. The affordable aspects of Seaside Park are reflected in the fact the Desert Palm had rooms starting as low $120 a night during the peak summer season of 2010. Situated across the street from the town's boardwalk and beaches, the hotel has a large courtyard with a swimming pool. Numerous restaurant and nightclubs are within walking distance. Rooms with Jacuzzis can be requested. Special discount rates in the fall and winter are available. Guests receive one free parking space. The hotel has a daily housekeeping service.
